ACOVENE Board Holds First In-Person Meeting Post-Pandemic, Welcomes New Member

The ACOVENE board gathered in London on October 1, 2024, at the Royal College of Nursing, marking the first in-person meeting since the COVID pandemic. While the board maintained its work through virtual meetings during and after the pandemic, this in-person session allowed for deeper collaboration and discussion.

ACOVENE’s board is highly international, with members representing various European countries, bringing diverse perspectives to the table. The agenda included key discussions on financial planning for 2025, upcoming accreditation visits, and ways to enhance communication strategies.

A highlight of the meeting was welcoming Gráinne Gilsenan RVN from the Republic of Ireland as the newest board member. Gráinne’s experience and fresh perspective will further strengthen ACOVENE’s efforts as it continues to support schools and institutions in meeting high educational standards.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining rigorous accreditation processes and quality monitoring, reflecting on the recent accreditations completed and preparing for those scheduled in 2025. As veterinary nursing education evolves, ACOVENE remains at the forefront, providing essential guidance to educational institutions.

This meeting also emphasized ACOVENE’s collaborative spirit, both within the board and with external stakeholders. Proposals were discussed to streamline operations, update protocols, and explore partnerships to further enhance the organization’s impact.

ACOVENE remains dedicated to supporting veterinary nurses and educators across Europe, ensuring accredited schools uphold the highest standards of education and training as they prepare the next generation of professionals.
