Veterinary Nursing Stream Takes Center Stage at EERVC 2024 in Belgrade

The 2024 Eastern European Regional Veterinary Conference (EERVC) will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from October 10th to 12th. Returning to the city where it first began in 2016, this 7th edition promises to be a premier event for veterinary professionals, featuring cutting-edge scientific content, a vast trade exhibition, and exceptional networking opportunities.

A major highlight of this year’s conference is the Veterinary Nursing (VN) stream, scheduled for Saturday, October 12. Sponsored by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA), this specialized stream will showcase lectures by Matthew Rendle RVN, a leading expert in veterinary nursing and a board member of the Accreditation Committee for Veterinary Nurse Education (ACOVENE).

Matthew Rendle, who began his veterinary nursing career in the UK in 1989, is recognized for his expertise in nursing care for a wide range of species—from ants to elephants. His global experience and various roles in veterinary settings have given him unique insights into best practices in the field.

Matthew’s sessions at EERVC 2024 aim to enhance nursing care practices, covering topics such as:

• Veterinary Nursing – Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!

• Fluid Therapy for Nurses – What to Use and When?

• First Principles of Anaesthesia in Practice

• Anaesthesia Monitoring – Keeping Things Safe!

• Fundamental Clinical Nutrition for Nurses

• Welfare-Minded Blood Sampling of Pet Mammals

These sessions are designed to be both informative and practical, offering insights that attendees can immediately apply in their practices. Rendle’s emphasis on teamwork, anaesthesia safety, and animal welfare highlights the critical role of veterinary nursing in maintaining high standards of care.

Beyond the VN stream, the EERVC provides a dynamic platform for professionals to stay updated on the latest developments, exchange ideas, and explore new products and innovations at the trade exhibition. This exhibition is renowned for showcasing cutting-edge tools and services tailored to the needs of small animal veterinarians.

The EERVC Organizing Team has also planned social events to enhance networking, including a Welcome Reception on Thursday and the popular EERVC Party on Friday. These events offer a chance to connect with peers in a relaxed setting while enjoying Belgrade’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Belgrade itself, with its rich history, diverse architecture, and vibrant street life, provides an ideal backdrop for the conference. The city’s youthful spirit and hospitality ensure a memorable experience for all attendees.
